We gathered at school and collected our results - the fruits of 16 years labour. The sun shone on us, young, beautiful, succesful. It lit our shining hair, our bright smiles, our screams and tears. I loved my friends beyond words that day, and I loved myself. And then we left for our big adventure, and the weekend that followed was wonderful. We laughed and danced and drank and sung and we loved each other. We loved ourselves. And I liked myself for the first time in months. I didn't feel like the ugly duckling to my friends' swans, I felt worthy. I'm holding on to that feeling with all my might. No one told me that the big adventure was yet to come. The big adventure is our future. The golden moments are yet to come. Hold my hand and we'll make it there.
